The ideal period to book a stay in a tree house at any of the many resorts or businesses in Kerala is during the months of October through February. During this time, the weather is usually cool, following the monsoons the previous month, with lush, green surroundings, and beautiful misty mornings we have seen at many of the resorts/hotels online. They are also great for honeymooning couples, photography, and peaceful sightseeing and hikes with friends and family.
While March-May (summer) are not quite as wonderfully advertised as other dates, they do continue to keep cooler temperatures than from Kochi and the surrounding lowlands, especially around the towns of Munnar and Wayanad. So if you would like to escape the summer heat, this is an excellent time to visit these beautiful tree house accommodations. However, you may find that the beaches and waterfalls are very low and rough, but the view of the sunrise is magnificent!
The months of June-September (monsoon season) have the coolest seasons of the tree houses, allowing for the full effect of a dramatic sunset or sunrise views through a mountain range, at the expense of some slippery pathways to access the nests, and the inability to do many activities while staying at the resorts. To have the least amount of people visiting the area or most comfortable weather, I would advise you to visit in either the month of September or March.
So as you can see, it does not really matter which period you visit, as there is a perfect period of the year for you, whether you prefer a misty morning, or the lush green surroundings after a street rain storm, Kerala has something for everyone to enjoy.
