Palace on Wheels, an iconic luxury train of India, won the PATWA (Pacific Area Travel Writers Association) award for 2018 under the genre, ‘Tourist Train of the Year’. The award ceremony was held at the ITB Berlin event in Germany. This is one of the prestigious awards provided to the luxury trains around the world for its outstanding amenities, services, touring style, and sublime decor.
Palace on Wheels began its first journey on India's Republic Day in 1982. The train takes you to various destinations in and around Rajasthan. The prime aim of the train was to promote tourism in Rajasthan. Palace on Wheels is recognized for its royal hospitality and vibrant itinerary that covers all the colors of the state.
